Ultimately, we are left with a simple, long-established and fundamental insight: sound does not begin in the signal path – but right at the mains socket. Anyone who carries out a careful assessment of their requirements here will subsequently be able to objectively evaluate the quality of the connected components. With the PF-3, Vincent has designed an effective six-way power distributor that keeps electromagnetic interference and DC components from mains cables and power supplies at bay, thereby eliminating the invisible bottleneck for optimal sound quality. Furthermore, the filtering is optimised for digital devices, as these are often sources of HF interference themselves. In this robust power distributor, however, they have no chance of negatively affecting other connected devices. For its excellent value for money, the PF-3 would have deserved the i-fidelity.net ‘Best Buy’ award. However, as we rate its performance even higher, the ‘Tuning Tip’ award, combined with a clear recommendation, is the logical choice.  Olaf Sturm
